Rosalba C Ramirez
Rosalba serves as the Career Coach for students in Business, Accounting, and Economics. She is passionate about supporting young adults in their academic, vocational, and professional development. Rosalba is originally from Mexico City and she came to the U.S.A to learn English when she was nineteen years old. This experience instilled in her the love for higher education, career development, and languages. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in English from the University of North Texas, a master’s degree in Hispanic Literature from the University of New Mexico as well as an ADT Coaching Certificate.
Before joining the Career Center, Rosalba worked as a Program Coordinator in the College Access Programs office for four and a half years. Prior to Calvin College, she worked as an Assistant Professor, team leader, and Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) tester in the Spanish department at the Defense Language Institute. She also worked as a Spanish high school teacher and as a Bilingual Outreach Coordinator for the Anne Arundel County Public School District in Maryland.
Rosalba has lived in nine different states (TX, CT, CO, NM, VA, MD, AL, CA, and MI) within the U.S.A. Outside of work, you can find Rosalba working on projects involving Spanish language acquisition and interpretation, reading, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and three children.
