Thea received her BA in History and English from Calvin College before going on to get her MA degree in Latin American History at Rutgers University. Though her original goal was teaching History at the college level, while in graduate school she recognized that her most fulfilling work came from supporting students. She joined our team as the Tutor Coordinator in 2007. Thea now serves as the Associate Director for Student Success. In role as Associate Director, she gets to work daily at supporting students in multiple areas. She also leads Calvin’s cross-divisional Coordinated Care Project. In her free time she enjoys reading, advocating for semicolon usage, and continuing her quest to become a contestant on Jeopardy!
