The land Calvin University currently occupies was taken by the United States from the indigenous Anishinaabeg peoples who lived here two hundred years ago this fall, in the Treaty of Chicago on August 29, 1821. This session explores the history of this place before and after settler colonialism, and how this legacy shapes our community today
