Celebrating Earth Day & 30 Years of Place-Based Education and Creation Care at the Calvin College Ecosystem Preserve
30 years ago, Calvin College set aside 100 acres of campus woods and wetlands as a creation care and study center. In the years since, dozens of faculty and hundreds of students have nurtured and studied the Ecosystem Preserve. Through illustrated stories, Randy and Jeanette will share what the Preserve and its creatures have taught us and how we have been able to share our growing knowledge of this special place with the Calvin community and beyond.
Guided hike:
Go behind the gates as we hike through the refugee section of the preserve. Poison ivy and muddy trails abound. Dress appropriately for this adventure!
