The Princeton Review, the Fiske Guide to Colleges and Forbes all give Calvin
College high marks in this year's edition of their annual college guides.

Calvin College has been included in the 2013 edition of the Princeton Review's
annual college guide: "The Best 373 Colleges." Only about 16 percent of the
nation's four-year colleges are included in the guide, which bases its
selections on institutional data, school visits, student feedback and the
opinions of both the Princeton Review staff and the 30-member National College
Counselor Advisory Board. The Princeton Review depends heavily on student
surveys in forming each
school's two-page profile.

In a "Survey Says" sidebar in the book's profile on Calvin, The Princeton
Review lists topics that Calvin students surveyed for the book agreed on in
their answers to survey questions. The list includes: "Students get along with
local community"; "Great off-campus food"; “Low cost of living"; "Frats and
sororities are unpopular or nonexistent"; "Musical organizations are popular"
and "Very little drug use."

Students also talk about Calvin's "excellent reputation as a Christian and
academic institute," its commitment to service-learning, its affordability and
its beautiful campus. Students also give their professors high marks saying
they "make their subjects fascinating" and "genuinely care about the
students."

As for campus life, one student says the small "student body and campus size
promote a social atmosphere wherein each student may feel a strong sense of
community, friendship and belonging."

Another student sums Calvin College up simply: "Small class sizes, good
faculty, and good facilities all contribute to make this a strong school."

"The Best 377 Colleges" (Random House/ Princeton Review) will be available in
a print edition and a new enhanced eBook edition on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.

Forbes and Fiske
Calvin College is also recognized among the best colleges and universities in
the nation in both the 2013 Forbes' annual college guide and the latest edition
of the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
Both guides recognize schools based upon the value they provide to their
students. Forbes ranks Calvin 169th (up 49 spots from 2012) on their list of
650 schools. The Forbes list is prepared by the Center for College
Affordability and Productivity (CCAP), a Washington D.C. think tank.
Institutions are ranked based on quality of teaching, great career prospects,
graduation rates and low levels of debt. For more information on Calvin's
ranking in the Forbes' guide, visit: www.forbes.com/colleges/calvin-college
Calvin is also included in the 2013 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges,
which features 315 of the best and most interesting colleges and universities
in the U.S., Canada and Great Britain. Edward B. Fiske, former education editor
for the New York Times, compiles the annual guide. Colleges featured in this
year's guide were selected with several criteria in mind, beginning with
academic quality. For more information on the Fiske guide, visit:
