Well-Known Author, Evangelical Leader to Speak at Calvin

Prolific author and well-known evangelical leader Mark Noll will speak at Calvin College on Thursday and Friday, September 17-18.

Noll was named one of the "25 MOST INFLUENTIAL EVANGELICALS IN AMERICA" by Time Magazine in 2005. Currently a professor of history at Notre Dame University, he formerly taught history and theology for 27 years at Wheaton College.

In addition to authoring a number of well-known books, such as "The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind" and "The Rise of Evangelicalism," Noll co-founded and directed the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals and has urged greater cooperation between Evangelical and Catholic leaders in the United States.

Noll's talk on Thursday, September 17 will focus on one of his most recent books, titled "God and Race in American Politics." The lecture will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Willow Room of the Prince Conference Center.

On Friday, September 18, Noll will give a second lecture titled "World Christianity and American Christianity: What About the Future?" The lecture will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Prince Conference Center.
