Award-winning film director returns to Calvin!

Calvin College welcomes back a highly successful film director. Alumna Patricia Rozema directed such films as: "Mansfield Park", "Kit Kittredge," "I've Heard the Mermaids Singing," and the upcoming adaptation of "Grey Gardens" starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. She wrote the screenplays for some of those too. Rozema is returning to her alma mater on Thursday and Friday, March 5-6 and will showcase one of her films and provide insight about screenwriting and directing.

Thursday, March 5

7:30 p.m. - Lecture: "Making Films, One Woman's Perspective" (Bytwerk Theatre)

Friday, March 6

1:30 p.m. - Screenwriting workshop (Bytwerk Theatre)
3:30 p.m. - Directing workshop (Bytwerk Theatre)
8:00 p.m. - Screening of "I've Heard the Mermaids Singing" with introduction by Patricia Rozema who wrote and directed this award-winning film (Bytwerk Theatre)

Note: Bytwerk Theatre is in the basement of the Devos Communication Center
