    January 15, 2003 == MEDIA ADVISORY

    On January 24-25 Calvin will host Philip Lee, a Hong Kong film producer whose
    work has included such films as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (associate
    producer), Tomb Raider 2 (line producer), Hero, with Jet Li (line producer) and
    Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (production manager).

    He will speak on January 24 in the Bytwerk Video Theatre at 2 pm in an informal
    presentation on "the job of the film producer." He will deliver a more formal
    talk that night at 7:30 pm in the Bytwerk Theatre on "The Influence of Hollywood
    Filmmaking on Asia: From 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' to 'Tomb Raider II'."
    Finally on Saturday, Lee is leading a workshop on film production with the
    students of Calvin Video Network. The two Friday talks are open to the public;
    the Saturday event is not.

    Lee is a graduate of the The American Film Institute in LA. He also studied
    philosophy at the University of Hong Kong and Cinema at Nihon University,
    College of Art, in Tokyo. He speaks Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), English
    and Japanese.

    Philip earned his BA in film directing from Nihon University in Japan and
    received his MFA from the American Film Institute (AFI) where he was awarded the
    Mary Pickford Foundation Scholarship for Outstanding Producing.

    He currently is a candidate for the Doctor of Business Administration at Hong
    Kong Polytechnic University with a research thesis on strategies that would lead
    the Hong Kong film industry to be more competitive in the international market
    place.

    Calvin's contact with Lee came through Calvin senior Tiffany Leighton, manager
    of Calvin Video Network, who spent the summer in China where she met Lee.
