CALVIN SPORTS REPORT EXTRA FOR MAY 1, 2004

This year's Calvin 5K Spring Classic featured some classic finishes.
Race champion Paul Rollet of Grand Rapids inched out a victory over
defending champion Jimi Minnema of Jenison by one second, with a time of 15:58.
Diane DeBoer-Bunn notched another local road race victory by coming in just
ahead of Laura Vroon of Wyoming (another previous Spring Classic winner), by
three seconds with a finishing time of 18:28.
A total of 539 runners and walkers participated in the 2004 edition of the
event, this time on a new course that took runners under the East Beltline and
across Calvin's new east campus roadway to East Paris Avenue and back.
