Tricia Dyk Named to Great Lakes All-Region Soccer Team
GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Calvin College junior Tricia Dyk has been named to
the NCAA III Great Lakes All-Region second team by the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America. It marks the second straight straight
year that Dyk has been named to the Great Lakes All-Region second team.
A native of Grand Haven and a graduate of Western Michigan Christian
High School, Dyk was the Most Valuable Player of the MIAA this fall as
she led the league in scoring with 21 goals and 10 assists for 52 points
in conference play. In overall play, Dyk finished with 27 goals, 12
assists and 66 points from her position as a forward. Dyk's season goal
total matched the third-best single-season total established by older
sister Tara Dyk in 1995. Her season total of 66 points was also the
third-best single-season total in Calvin history while her assist total
matched the third-best single-season total in Calvin history.
Of her 27 goals this fall, seven were game-winners including five
game-winners in league play. Dyk also notched at least one point in 19
of Calvin's 20 games. Heading into her senior year next fall, Dyk is
third on the Calvin career list in goals (56) and points (138) and sixth
in assists (26).
The Calvin women's soccer team finished the year with a 15-5 overall
record and took second in the MIAA with an 11-3 conference mark. With
its 15 victories, Calvin reached the double-digit plateau in victories
for the 12th consecutive year. Calvin's overall victory total also
matched the fourth-highest win total in school history.
The Calvin women's soccer team has now had members of its team receive
Great Lakes All-Region honors 16 times including seven times in the last
five years.
Dyk has also made the transition from the soccer pitch to the
basketball floor in smooth fashion this winter. Dyk is currently the
starting point guard on the Calvin women's basketball team that is 5-3
overall. Dyk is averaging 10.1 points, 4.0 assists and 3.1
