Foltice named MIAA co-Player of the Week in Men's Basketball

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - For the second time this year and for the third time
in his career, Calvin sophomore guard Bryan Foltice has been named MIAA
Player of the Week in men's basketball.

A native of Grandville and a graduate of Wyoming Tri-unity Christian
High School, Foltice shares this week's award with Adrian junior Chris
Howard.

In victories over Alma and Olivet last week, Foltice scored 43 points
and grabbed 10 rebounds. In Wednesday's 94-80 win over Alma, he scored
14 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds. He then scored a
career-high 29 points in a 115-88 win over Olivet Saturday afternoon.
In the two victories, Foltice was 11-of-25 from the floor, 4-of-12 from
three-point range, connected on 17-of-20 free throw attempts and was
credited with five steals and three assists.

Foltice is currently second on the Calvin team in scoring with an
average of 14.7 points a game. Foltice is also shooting 43.2 percent
from three-point range and has a team-high 35 three-point field goals on
the year. In league play, Foltice is sixth in the MIAA scoring race
with an average of 14.3 points a game. He is also ninth in free throw
shooting as he is connecting on 78.1 percent of his free throw attempts.

With its victories over Alma and Olivet last week, Calvin improved to
15-3 overall and to 6-1 in the MIAA. The Knights are in sole possession
of first place in the league standings, one game ahead of second place
Hope (5-2) and a game-and-half ahead of third place Albion (4-2).

Calvin returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Kalamazoo for a
7:30 pm MIAA contest at the Anderson Athletic Center.
