CALVIN TEAMS RANKED NUMBER-ONE IN NATIONAL POLLS

A pair of Calvin College teams are ranked number-one in national polls.
The Calvin men's cross country team continues to remain ranked
number-one in the latest NCAA Division III Top-25 Poll while the
defending national champion Calvin men's basketball team is ranked
number-one in the D3Hoops.com Pre-Season Top-25 poll. In addition, the
defending national champion Calvin women's cross country team is ranked
second in the latest NCAA Division III Top-25 poll.

The Calvin men's cross country team received six of a possible eight
first place votes in this week's poll with Keene State of New Hampshire
gaining the two additional first place votes.

In the D3hoops.com poll, Calvin was narrowly selected as the No. 1 team
in the country as the Knights were one of four teams to receive No. 1
votes. The Knights received 13 of the 25 top votes, followed by No. 2
William Paterson, with nine. Wooster did not receive any first-place
votes, but finished third, with Carthage and UW-Stevens Point rounding
out the Top-five. The D3Hoops.com Top-25 poll is voted on by a panel of
25 coaches, sports information directors and writers from across the
    country, and is published weekly.

Both Calvin cross country teams are in action Saturday when they compete
at the Great Lakes Regional hosted by Hanover College in Hanover,
Indiana. The Calvin men's basketball team will also swing into action
as the Knights host the McLaughlin All-Stars in an exhibition game
Saturday night at 7:30 pm. There is no admission charge to the
    basketball game.
