Community Involvement
Do you love thinking creatively about ways to care for God’s creation? In the biology department, you'll meet like-minded students and professors who are working on campus—and around the world—to restore parts of the living world affected by modern life and industry.
Environmental Stewardship
Throughout Grand Rapids, you can engage with the world around you:
- Study the effects of pollution on Great Lakes shorebirds.
- Grow native plants to use in community restoration projects with Plaster Creek Stewards
- Live in a residence hall with other students who are passionate about creation care issues.
- Explore techniques in sustainable agriculture for rural communities in Cambodia.
- Grow nutritious, sustainable produce in our campus garden for Calvin’s dining halls.
- Survey animal and plant life in Calvin Ecosystem Preserve & Native Gardens or Flat Iron Lake Preserve.
