Master of Science in Nursing

Graduate Program On Campus

What You'll Learn

Ready to take the next step in your nursing career? Calvin’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program will prepare you with advanced nursing skills and equip you to lead others.

Created with working nurses in mind, Calvin’s MSN provides flexible, online courses designed to finish in two years while taking courses part-time. You’ll sharpen your skills and expand your expertise while exploring high-level nursing practices from a faith-based perspective.

Choose from two tracks:

  • Nurse Educator
You’ll prepare for leadership roles in nursing education with expertise in curriculum design and assessment of educational outcomes. Graduates are eligible to take the national CNE certification exam.
  • Clinical Nurse Leader
You’ll prepare for leadership roles in patient care practices and delivery, assessing and improving care outcomes, team leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration, use of systems and technology, and analyzing cost effectiveness. Graduates are eligible to take the national CNL certification exam.

Regardless of which track you choose, you’ll complete your program ready for career advancement and the ability to move seamlessly into a doctor of nursing practice program if desired.

The Clinical Nurse Leader track includes a one-week, on-campus health assessment immersive experience in the first year of the program. Both tracks include 500 hours of clinical fieldwork.

The first cohort for this program will start in the fall 2024.

Applications are accepted through NursingCAS, a nation-wide system used for applying to nursing programs. Choose fall 2024 for your application date and search "Calvin University" to find our two MSN concentrations.

Note: While Calvin's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is fully accredited, this new MSN program will pursue accreditation as soon as possible.
