Choose from two tracks
Regardless of which track you choose, you’ll complete your program ready for career advancement and the ability to move seamlessly into any doctor of nursing practice program if desired.
Nurse Educator track
In the Nurse Educator track, you’ll prepare for leadership roles in nursing education with expertise in curriculum design and assessment of educational outcomes. Graduates are eligible to take the national CNE certification exam.
The Nurse Educator track includes 500 hours of clinical fieldwork.
Clinical Nurse Leader track
In the Clinical Nurse Leader track, you’ll prepare for leadership roles in patient care practices and delivery, assessing and improving care outcomes, team leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration, use of systems and technology, and analyzing cost effectiveness. Graduates are eligible to take the national CNL certification exam.
The Clinical Nurse Leader track includes a one-week, on-campus health assessment immersive experience in the first year of the program and 500 hours of clinical fieldwork.
Program Details
While Calvin's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is fully accredited, this new MSN program will pursue accreditation as soon as possible.
Application and start dates
We accept applications on a rolling basis, for terms starting each fall. Applications are accepted through NursingCAS, a nation-wide system used for applying to nursing programs.

Eligibility
Applicants must hold a bachelor of science in nursing degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- International students are not eligible to apply for the Clinical Nurse Leader track unless they are already working in the United States.
- International students are eligible to apply for the Nurse Educator track since it is fully online.
Costs
Cost: $775 per credit hour with no additional fees
Number of credits: 37-40 credits
States for clinicals
Students must be able to complete clinical immersion experiences in one of the following states and/or territories: Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Vermont, or Washington, DC.
