Forensic Biology: History, Applications, and Workflow

One of many forensic disciplines, forensic biology is an ever-changing field of applying molecular and cellular biology techniques to matters of legal interest. From analyzing body fluids for antigens to amplifying multi-locus DNA profiles from trace samples, the history of this field reflects advancements in biologic technology and the desire to use biologic information to better understand issues of justice. This seminar will delve into these topics and provide insight into the day-to-day work of a forensic biologist.
