Extended Pathway

A team meeting

Resources for creating extended and enduring learning in your school community.

Extended Pathway resources are intended to enable a larger group of teachers or a whole school community to engage in learning over a longer period of time. These resources enable more enduring learning and more integrated application to practice. Each Extended Pathway resource provides everything needed to conduct seven short learning modules across a period ranging from seven weeks to seven months. Each module includes instruction, reflection, interaction with colleagues, and immediate opportunities for application, all of it structured in a series of bite-sized engagements.

In each resource you will find instructional videos, detailed participant guides for each module, reflective prompts, prompts for intentional discussion with colleagues, practical options for immediate application, and slides for use when introducing and direct the experience. You will also find a detailed, step-by-step leader guide with thorough instructions on setting up, sequencing, and guiding the extended learning process. Learning can be focused in meeting times or distributed across the week. Through successive modules that approach the same broad topic from fresh angles, participants will build up a rhythm connecting coherent reflection, whole-school conversation, and faith-informed action. This creates a pathway to greater learning gains for individuals and for the school community as a whole than are typical for a single training day. The Extended Pathway resources offer a way of following through on and deepening a professional development day on the same topic, resources for which can be found in the Intensive Pathway.

Intensive and Extended resources can be combined at a discount.
