MORE WOMEN'S Lacrosse
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Calvin women's lacrosse team swept the MIAA weekly honors after the Knights claimed their third-straight MIAA Tournament title on Saturday. The Knights defeated Hope 14-8 on a stormy Wednesday night and defeated Saint Mary's 16-8 on Saturday to secure the title. Emma Hall was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week and Ellis Chalfant was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
"I am really proud of these two," said Calvin head coach Blake Boehm. "These two played a key role in our success last week and all season long. I am excited to coach them again in the NCAA Tournament."
A senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, Hall is claiming this honor for the first time in her career. In her final two games at Zuidema Field, she recorded four points.

MEN'S GOLF
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Ben VanScoyk will compete at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships.
"We're very excited and gratified that Ben has been selected to compete at the national level as an individual," said Calvin head coach Dr. Brian Bolt. "Ben's amazing senior year caps off a tremendous career at Calvin. Ben and teammate John Van Noord have re-written Calvin's record books during their time here. Since John made it to nationals last year, it is fitting that Ben will represent Calvin this year at the national tournament. Ben has a lot of talent, yet he works as hard as any player we've ever had at Calvin. This honor is the result of many years of Ben's determination and diligent focus on his game. Ben is a great teammate, and while he would rather have his team with him, he is now focused on the task at hand. I expect he will perform very well next week, and we can't wait to head to North Carolina for Ben to represent Calvin Men's Golf at the NCAA Division III national tournament."
The competition will take place at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. The four-day tournament will start on Tuesday, May 15.
A senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, VanScoyk recorded a 72.31 average on the year. He is the second individual to represent Calvin at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, with John Van Noord earning a spot in 2017.
VanScoyk is one of six individuals to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships
