Calvin Finishes 27th in Final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

Calvin College has finished 27th in the final 2015-16 NCAA III Learfield Directors' Cup standings with a total of 515.75 points.
Williams won the 2015-16 title as the best athletics program in the nation in Division III with a score of 1,098.25 points.
The Cup is presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and Learfield Sports to the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country, and is based on points earned by teams that compete in NCAA Championship events.
Division III points are awarded based on finish in championship competition. Each national champion receives 100 points with a national runner-up finish worth 90 points. Third place is worth 80 points and fourth place finishes count for 75 points with a sliding point scale continuing on down by order of finish.
Calvin picked up 83 points during the spring sports season as its women's lacrosse team reached the second round of the NCAA III Tournament while its women's track and field took 44th and its men's track and field team 71st at the NCAA III Championships.
Combined, 10 of Calvin's 21 sports teams scored Directors' Cup points during the 2015-16 academic year.
