Brink Receives Player of the Week Honors in Men's Basketball;
Langerak Receives Weekly Honor From MIAA In Swimming and Diving;
Baseball Team To Volunteer With Salvation Army Christmas Campaign

MEN'S BASKETBALL

FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin guard Jordan Brink its Player of the Week in men's basketball for games played through November 16.
Brink, a senior from Dyer, Ind. (Illiana Christian HS), scored 27 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out seven assists and added five steals as the defending MIAA champion Knights opened their season with a 108-98 victory Saturday over Anderson, Ind. Brink made 11 of 15 shots from the field and all three of his free throw attempts.

He is being honored as Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.

Calvin is back in action on Friday when it takes on Waynesburg (PA) at 7:30 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin's Nicole Langerak its Athlete of the Week in women's swimming and diving for meets through November 16.
Langerak, a freshman from Jenison (Jenison HS) set an Olivet pool record in 3-meter diving and qualified for the NCAA regional diving meet with a score of 277.25 in Calvin's 116-61 dual meet victory over Olivet Saturday. She is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

Langerak has helped the Calvin women's team post a 3-3 dual meet record thus far.
BASEBALL

This week the Knights are participating in their second Salvation Army volunteer event of this year.

Visitors to Woodland Mall will be greeted by Calvin baseball players at the Sears or JC Penney entrances between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday. Two Calvin Baseball players will be ringing bells for the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign.
