Volleyball Remains Unbeaten With Win at Trine - MIAA Win Streak Now at 42

ANGOLA, IN - The top-ranked Calvin women's volleyball team improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the MIAA with a 25-18, 25-11, 25-18 conference victory at Trine University Wednesday night. Calvin has now won 42 consecutive MIAA regular season matches and is now 51-1 over its last 52 matches in conference play.

Calvin pulled away from Trine late in set one with an 8-3 run after Trine trailed just 17-15. In set two, Calvin hit at a .462 clip and then used an 8-4 run to close out its set three win.

Calvin hit .413 as a team in the win with freshman Laura Danhoff (Willard, OH/Willard HS) having a big match with eight kills and a .583 hitting percentage. Junior Emily Crowe (Granger, IN/Mishawaka Penn HS) added five kills and six block assists.
Senior setter Megan Rietema (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) had seven kills, 20 assists, six digs and a hitting percentage of .545.
Sophomore Maggie Kamp (Orland Park, IL/Chicago Christian HS) had nine digs and five kills while junior Elise Biesboer (Elmhurst, IL/Timothy Christian HS) had three service aces.

Calvin will now turn its attention to the rugged Wittenberg Fall Invitational. On Friday, Calvin will face sixth-ranked Washington University of Missouri at 3:30 p.m. and will then meet Heidelberg University at 8 p.m.
