CALVIN KNIGHT SPORTS REPORT FOR NOV. 5, 2012

VOLLEYBALL

The Calvin women’s volleyball team will host an eight-team NCAA III regional
November 8-10 at Calvin’s Van Noord Arena.
Joining Calvin at the regional will be Wittenberg (Oh.), Ohio Northern (Oh.),
Otterbein (Oh.), Hope (Mich.), Mount Union (Oh.), Madaille (New York) and
Heidelberg (Oh.).
First round match ups on November 8 will feature Wittenberg (25-4) against
Ohio Northern (23-6), Otterbein (26-7) against Hope (28-4), Mount Union (26-6)
against Medaille (16-12) and Heidelberg (19-14) against Calvin (28-2).
Wittenberg will face Ohio Northern at 12:30 p.m. EST. Otterbein will play
Hope at 3:00 p.m. EST. Mount Union will play Medaille at 5:30 p.m. EST.
Heidelberg will face host Calvin at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Calvin will be making its 22nd NCAA III Tournament appearance including its
ninth consecutive under head coach Amber Warners. The Knights are 28-22
all-time in NCAA III Tournament Play.
MEN'S SOCCER

The Calvin College men’s soccer team will travel to Dominican University
(Ill.) for an NCAA III Tournament first-round matchup with DePauw (13-1-5) on
November 9. The other game will feature host Dominican (16-2-1) against
Webster from Missouri (12-5-2).
Calvin will face DePauw at 1:30 p.m. CST. Ticket prices will be announced
later today.
Calvin (16-3-1) will be making its 11th appearance and sixth straight in the
NCAA III Tournament. A season ago, Calvin fell to Ohio Wesleyan 2-1 in the
national championship game.
Calvin captured the MIAA regular season title this year, finishing 12-1-1 in
league play.
WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Calvin College women’s soccer team will travel to Loras (Iowa) for an NCAA
III Tournament first round game with Aurora (Ill.). Aurora comes into the game
with a 19-1-1 record. The other matchup will feature host Loras (17-4) against
St. Scholastica of Minnesota (17-4-1).
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for college students and senior citizens.
Calvin will face Aurora at 7:30 p.m. CST with the first game being played at
5:00 p.m. CST.
Calvin (15-4-1) is making its ninth appearance in the NCAA III Tournament
under head coach Mark Recker and ninth overall. The Knights are 7-3-5 all-time
in the NCAA III Tournament and have advanced to the national quarterfinals
twice in school history (2006 and 2009).
The Knights won the MIAA regular season title this year finishing 12-3-1 in
league play.
