Follow NCAA III Tournament Selection Shows Online Monday;
Swimming and Diving Teams Split in Dual Meet Action at Wheaton
NCAA III TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
The Calvin men’s and women’s soccer teams and women’s volleyball team are
headed to the NCAA III Tournament this week. The tournament fields will
officially be announced on Monday with sites and pairings including in the
announcements. The women’s volleyball selection announcement will be at 11 a.m.
on Monday while the men’s soccer selection will be at 1 p.m. and the women’s

The Calvin women's volleyball team will be making its 22nd NCAA III Tournament
appearance including its ninth consecutive appearance under current head coach
Amber Warners. The Knights are 28-22 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play.
The Calvin men's soccer team will be making its 11th NCAA III Tournament
appearance including its eighth in the last nine years. The Knights are 13-10-6
all-time in NCAA III Tournament play.
The Calvin women's soccer team will be making its ninth NCAA III Tournament
appearance including its seventh under current head coach Mark Recker. The
Knights are 7-4-5 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
WHEATON, IL - The Calvin men's and women's swimming and diving teams were in
action for dual meets at Wheaton on Saturday. In the men's competition,
25th-ranked Calvin recorded a 163-117 victory to move to 3-1 on the season. On
the women's side, 15th-ranked Calvin fell to eighth-ranked Wheaton 157-131 to
fall to 2-2 on the season.
Individual winners for the Calvin men included:
*Freshman Brandon Muma in the 200 freestyle (1:46.78).
*Freshman Johnson Cochran in the 100 breaststroke (58.23) and 200 breaststroke
(2:11.10).
*Freshman Mitchell Schroder in the 50 freestyle (22.18) and 100 freestyle
(48.72).
*Junior Andrew Mitchell in the 200 backstroke (2:01.09).
*Senior Mark Rushlow in the 100 butterfly (53.46).
**Calvin's 200 medley relay team of Rushlow, Mitchell, Cochran and Schroder
also won with a time of 1:36.57.
On the women's side, Calvin picked up individual victories from:
*Sophomore Kathryn Wrobel in the 1000 freestyle (10:40.11) and 500 freestyle
(5:13.05).
*Senior Elizabeth Counsell in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.45) and 200
breaststroke (2:27.54).
**Calvin's 400 freestyle relay team of freshman Michaela Rookus, senior Rachel
Colasurdo, Wrobel and senior Stephanie Fox also took first place with a time of
3:39.37.
Both Calvin teams are back in action on Friday, traveling to Division II Wayne
State University for non-conference dual meet action at 5 p.m.
