Calvin College senior Miles Colago has added one more prestigious award to his long list of honors. This morning, Colago was named a third team Division III All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

A defender, Colago hails from Anoka, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Anoka High School.

Colago finished the 2011 season with three goals and six points. He was part of a Calvin defense that recorded 13 shutouts during the 2011 season and was named to the All-MIAA first team for a second straight year. He was also named to the All-Central Region first team and was named a Capital One Academic All-American.

Over the course of his Calvin career, Colago scored 10 goals including a pair in the 2010 NCAA III Tournament.

"I am very pleased to see Miles receive this honor," said Calvin men's soccer coach Chris Hughes. "He played at a very high level this year and was very respected by coaches not only in our region but in other regions. The thing that stands out to me about Miles is his work ethic, particularly in practice. He brought the level of play in our team up just by how hard he worked in practice. He always went full throttle and our team really thrived off his positive energy."

Colago helped the Calvin men's soccer team finish 19-6-2 this year and claim the MIAA regular season title with an 11-2-1 conference mark. The league title was Calvin's fifth straight. The Knights later received a bid to the NCAA III Tournament and advanced all the way to the NCAA III Championship game for the second time in three years.

Colago is the sixth individual in Calvin men's soccer history to receive All-America honors. Other individuals in Calvin men's soccer history to receive the honor include Casey TeHaar (1962), Doug DeSmit (1983), Joey Barone (1991), Kurt Visker (2004 & 2005) and Dan Kmetz (2009).
