Track and Field Teams Prepare for NCAA III Championships
TRACK AND FIELD
DELAWARE, OH - The individuals representing the Calvin track and field teams at the NCAA III Outdoor Championships joined with other fellow competitors Wednesday night on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University for a pre-nationals dinner. At the dinner, head coach Bret Otte was presented with the Great Lakes Women's Regional Coach of the Year Award. Calvin sports information student assistant Mitch Blankespoor caught up with Bret Otte and with Calvin distance coach Brian Diemer for pair of audio interviews looking ahead to the next three days.

Scheduled to compete for Calvin on Thursday will be senior Alex Wrobel and sophomore Greg Whittle in the men's 1,500 meter prelims, senior Rachel Boerner in the women's 400 meter hurdles prelims and juniors Rhett Morici and Dan Kerr in the men's 10,000 meter finals.
In addition, the Grand Rapids Press featured sophomore Alyssa Penning in today's print and online edition. Penning will compete in the 3,000 meter steeplechase Friday night.
