CALVIN SPORTS REPORT ADDITION FOR NOV. 10, 2008

The starting times for NCAA III tournament competition for Calvin's fall
sports teams have been set.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Calvin women's soccer team will be hosting a four-team regional this
Friday and Saturday. Calvin (17-2-1) will face the College of Mount St. Joseph
(14-4-2) in a first round game on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Chicago (12-5-1) will
then face Wittenberg (11-3-6) on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

Friday’s winners will then meet on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (EST)

Ticket prices are $6.00 for general admission, $3.00 for senior citizens and
$2.00 for children 12 and under. Children under two are admitted free.

MEN'S SOCCER

The Calvin men's soccer team (15-4-1) will face Carnegie-Mellon (14-2-1) in a
first round game on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University Friday at 5:00 p.m.
Host Ohio Wesleyan (16-4-1) will face Susquehanna (13-6-1) in the other first
round game Friday with a start time set for 7:30 p.m.

Friday’s winners will play on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. (EST).

VOLLEYBALL

The Calvin women’s volleyball team (26-4) will travel to the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh to face Wisconsin-Whitewater (29-9) in a first round match on
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. (EST).

Other first round matchups in the eight-team regional have Carthage (30-4)
facing St. Norbert (30-3), Heidelberg (30-7) facing Hope (26-6) and Lakeland
(25-10) facing host Wisconsin-Oshkosh (37-2).

CALVIN WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM RECEIVES MIAA DEFENSIVE HONOR OF THE WEEK (written

The Calvin defense was the story as the Knights claimed their fourth straight
MIAA championship with three straight shutout wins in the league tournament,
capped off by a 3-0 win over Alma in the championship game Saturday.

On the season, the Knights allowed just one goal against MIAA competition,
tying a league record for fewest goals allowed in a season, and shut out 10 out
of 11 opponents.
