WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
For the first time in her collegiate career, Calvin College freshman Rebecca Kamp has been named MIAA Player of the Week in women's volleyball. A 6-1 middle-hitter out of Orland Park, Illinois, Kamp had 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .467 in leading the Knights to a league victory over Trine University last Tuesday night. She also had nine digs and three blocks in the contest.
A graduate of Chicago Christian High School, Kamp was also named to the all-tournament team at the Border Battle tournament hosted by Wittenberg (Ohio) University, as Calvin won three of four matches including victories over 10th-ranked Ohio Northern and fifth-ranked Wittenberg.
On the year, Kamp is averaging 4.83 kills and 1.31 blocks per game along with a sizzling .409 attack percentage.
Calvin returns to action on Wednesday night when it travels to Alma for a 6:30 p.m. conference match.
