Calvin Unveils New Sports Information Web Design;

CALVIN UNVEILS NEW SPORTS INFORMATION WEB DESIGN

A new designed web site for the Calvin Sports Information Department has been launched. The web site retains the original on-line URL address of: http://www.calvin.edu/sports

The web site was designed by Calvin student Tommy Heyboer, '09. Improvements to the web site will continue throughout the year. Comments and feedback on the new design are welcome.

VOLLEYBALL

The Calvin women's volleyball team is ranked 21st in the pre-season Division III Top-25 poll released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association earlier this week. A year ago, Calvin captured its second straight MIAA title and reached the NCAA III Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The Knights finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 30-5, marking their third straight 30-win campaign.

In addition to Hope, Calvin is scheduled to face fourth-ranked Wittenberg and 11th-ranked Ohio Northern during the year. Calvin will open its season next Friday at the Ohio Northern Polar Bear Classic.

The Calvin volleyball team is currently preparing for the upcoming season inside the new Huizenga Tennis and Track Center. WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM CRACKS NSCAA PRE-SEASON TOP 25 POLL

The Calvin women's soccer team is ranked 19th in the pre-season Division III Top-25 poll released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The complete poll can be found on-line at: http://www.nscaa.com/seniorRes.php?it=761.

A year ago, Calvin finished with an overall record of 15-3-4, capturing its third straight MIAA title. The Knights also advanced to the NCAA III Tournament for the third straight year, bowing out in the second round in a penalty kick shootout to Wittenberg University.
