HOLLAND - The Knights dropped a twinbill this afternoon to rival Hope College
in Holland this afternoon. With the pair of losses, Calvin slipped to 10-14
overall and 6-6 in the MIAA.

Hope wasted no time in game one getting on the board scoring twice in the
bottom of the first inning. But Calvin cut Hope's lead in half at the top of
the next inning when after freshman Leah VanEnk (Portage/Kalamazoo Christian)
singled and stole second base, Samantha Ehlert (Rockford/Rockford) brought her
around to score when she singled.

The Knights then tied the game in the third when Ruth Diemer (McBain/McBain
Northern Michigan Christian) knocked in Kristin Ashman (Kankalee, IL/Grace
Baptist Academy). But that would be all the Knights would be able to muster
off Hope pitcher Deidra Enochs. Hope added three more runs in the fifth and
then two insurance runs in the sixth to defeat the Knights 7-2. VanEnk picked
up the loss for the Knights.

In the second game, Hope again went up early and led 2-0 after the first
inning. Hope added another run in the fifth while the Knights had no answer
behind the plate tallying three hits off of Sara Fisher who pitched the
complete game shutout for Hope. VanEnk pitched again for the Knights suffering
the loss going seven innings and allowing three runs off only four hits.

Calvin's next game will be Wednesday when it travels to Aquinas for a
doubleheader scheduled to begin at 4:00 in the afternoon.
