Calvin Remains in Top 10 of US Sports Academy Director's Cup Standings

After the recently completed winter sports season, Calvin remains in the top 10
of the Division III U.S. Sports Academy's Director's Cup Standings.

Calvin picked up 203 points during the winter sports season to build its season
total to 525 points, just 7.5 points behind fifth place New York University and
14 points ahead of seventh place Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Defending champion
Williams (MA) has moved into first place with a total of 704.5 points, 40
points of second place Middlebury. Rounding out the top four are Washington
(MO) in third place (628.5) and Amherst (MA) in fourth (602.5).

The winter sports season includes the sports of men's and women's basketball,
fencing, men's and women's ice hockey, downhill skiing, men's and women's
swimming and diving, men's wrestling and men's and women's indoor track and
field.

Points are scored by teams that advance to NCAA III Championship competition.

During the winter sports season, Calvin scored in three of a possible four
sports as its men's basketball team reached the second round of the NCAA III
Tournament, it's women's basketball team reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA
III Tournament and its women's swimming and diving team placed fourth at the
NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Collectively, Calvin has now had seven of its teams score points in the
Director's Cup chase as it men's cross country team (1st place), women's cross
country team (3rd place), women's volleyball team (Sweet 16 Round) and women's
soccer team (national quarterfinals) all participated in NCAA III Championships
competition during the fall.

A year ago, Calvin took ninth in the final Director's Cup standings with a
final season total of 561.25 points.

The U.S. Sports Academy Director's Cup race is currently in its 12th year at
the Division III level. Calvin is one of only eight schools to have finished in
the top-25 during all 11 previous seasons.

Calvin has posted four top-10 finishes in the Director's Cup chase, finishing
ninth in 2006, sixth in 2005, sixth in 2000 and seventh in 1999.
