Men's Tennis Pulls Out Win Over Spring Arbor;
Women's Tennis Falls to Hope;
Wednesday Baseball At Kalamazoo Postponed

MEN'S TENNIS

LANSING -- The Calvin men's tennis team improved to 7-2 on the year with a 5-4
victory over Spring Arbor University Tuesday afternoon at the Lansing Michigan
Athletic Club. The victory marked Calvin's fourth win of the year by a 5-4
score.

Calvin split the six singles points but took two of the three doubles points to
secure the win. Senior Rafael Siebenschein (Lynden, WA) and junior Mike
Goorhouse (Holland Christian HS) were winners at No. 3 doubles while junior
Ricky Tilton (Gap, PA) and sophomore Marcus Zeilstra (Oakbrook, IL) were
winners at No. 1 doubles by a narrow 9-8 margin, clinching the match for the
Knights.

Picking up singles victories for Calvin were Siebenschein, Goorhouse and senior
Dan Volkema (Holland Christian HS). Volkema is now 6-1 in singles action this
year while Siebenschein is 7-2.

Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Tri-State University in an
MIAA conference match. The match will be played at the MVP Sportsplex in
Kentwood.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

HOLLAND -- Calvin slipped to 6-7 overall and to 2-2 in the MIAA with a 7-2 loss
at rival Hope on Tuesday. Calvin's lone points came from senior Allyson Logan
(Fort Wayne, IN) at No. 3 singles and Calvin's No. 1 doubles team of senior
Kari Lipinski (Northpointe Christian HS) and freshman Rachel Strikwerda
(Holland Christian HS).

Calvin returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Tri-State in a conference
match at 3:00 p.m. at the MVP Sportsplex in Kentwood.

Calvin's scheduled doubleheader at Kalamazoo on Wednesday has been postponed
because of cold and wet weather conditions sweeping through West Michigan. The
doubleheader has been rescheduled for Monday, April 9 at Kalamazoo with a start
time of 2:00 p.m.
