Swim Teams Complete Dual Meet Season With Victories over Albion/ St. Mary’s

ALBION * The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams closed out their dual meet campaigns with victories on Saturday as the Calvin women defeated St. Mary’s 148-58 and Albion 109-88 while the Calvin men defeated Albion 133-110.
The Calvin women finish their dual meet season with an impressive 11-3 mark while the Calvin men finish with a dual meet record of 4-8 including 3-2 against MIAA foes.
In the women’s meet, freshman diver Erica Deur of Holland Christian High School continued to shine as she shattered a pair of school records while posting strong NCAA III qualifying marks as well. In the one-meter competition, Deur posted a first place and NCAA III automatic qualifying score of 261.40, breaking her previous school record of 256.40 set earlier this year. Deur then took it a step further by winning the three-meter competition with an NCAA III automatic qualifying score of 281.55, breaking her record 268.95 set just last week. Deur’s score on the three-meter board is the fourth-best score posted this year in NCAA III women’s diving.
Deur was part of an impressed diving performance by the Calvin women as senior Julie Erickson (Libertyville, IL) took third on the one-meter board (214.05) and three-meter board (220.05).
