CSR (Konyndyk named MIAA Softball POW/Baseball with Kzoo rescheduled)

CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR APRIL 3, 2005

SOFTBALL

For the first time in her collegiate career, Calvin College senior Abby
Konyndyk has been named MIAA Player of the Week in softball. A native of Grand
Rapids and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School, Konyndyk batted
.538 over six games last week with seven hits in 13 at-bats, including three
homeruns and a double. She had seven RBIs, six walks and 17 total bases.
Calvin is currently 10-4 on the year with Konyndyk holding a .455 batting
average that includes a team-leading 11 RBI's and 10 runs scored. Konyndyk
also has a team-leading 10 extra base hits with four doubles, one triple and
four home runs. She currently holds a slugging percentage of 1.030.

Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Kalamazoo for a
conference doubleheader slated to start at 3:00 p.m.

BASEBALL

Calvin's single nine-inning game with Kalamazoo has been rescheduled for this
Tuesday at Calvin at 4:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for March 28
but was postponed because of poor weather conditions. Calvin was scheduled to
travel to Siena Heights on Tuesday for a non-conference game but that game has
now been cancelled.

Tuesday's game with Kalamazoo will be broadcast via RealAudio through the
Calvin web site at: www.Calvin.edu/sports

WOMEN'S TENNIS

The Calvin women's tennis team got back on the winning track with a 5-4 victory
over Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday in a match played at Wheaton
College. The Knights return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Alma
for a conference match slated to start at 3:00 p.m.
