CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR JANUARY 13, 2005

KRISTIN MCDONALD NAMED TO D3HOOPS.COM TEAM OF THE WEEK

A record-setting week has landed Calvin College senior Kristen McDonald on the
D3hoops.com National Team of the Week in women's basketball.

A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of West Catholic High School, McDonald
is receiving D3hoops.com National Team of the Week honors for the first time.

McDonald is one of five players from across the nation at the NCAA III level
to be so honored and one of two from the MIAA as Albion senior Sarah Caskey has
also been named to this week's team. Also named to this week's D3hoops.Com
Team of the Week are Alyssa Burns of Maine Maritime University, Chelsea Luhta
of Widener University (PA) and Tamika Curtis of Benedictine (IL) University.

Last week McDonald played a key role in leading Calvin to conference victories
over Tri-State, St. Mary's and Kalamazoo as the Knights stretched their
winning streak to nine games and improved to 11-2 overall and to 5-1 in the
MIAA.

In an 84-73 win over Tri-State, McDonald tallied 19 points and 12 assists with
her assist total matching the third-highest single-game total in Calvin
women's basketball history. She followed with 21 points including a pair
of three-point field goals in a 56-45 win over St. Mary's. Her pair of
triples allowed her to become the all-time Calvin leader in three-point field
goals as she raised her career total to 153. In a 78-51 win over Kalamazoo
Saturday night, McDonald picked up 10 assists for her third double-digit assist
game of the year.

Over the course of the week, McDonald averaged 16 points, nine assists and two
steals per game.

On the season, McDonald is averaging 14.5 points and 5.46 assists per game
while connecting on 42.6 percent of her three-point field goal attempts and
75.4 percent of her free throw attempts. In overall games, she leads the MIAA
in assists-per-game and is third in scoring average.

Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Olivet at 3:00 p.m.
