CALVIN WEEKLY BROADCAST SCHEDULE SET

A slate of Calvin athletic events will once again be aired this week through
the Calvin web site. On Tuesday, the women's soccer game at Hope will be
broadcast via RealAudio with the pregame set for 3:50 with Josh Miller calling
the play-by-play. At 7:00 p.m. the women's volleyball match at Kalamazoo will
be aired with Nick Bolt calling all of the action.

On Wednesday, the men's soccer game at Albion will be broadcast by the Albion
sports information department using the Windows Media Player software. A
direct link to the Albion broadcast is available on the Calvin sports
information web site at: www.Calvin.edu/sports

On Saturday, a doubleheader of volleyball action is on the schedule as Josh
Miller and Jeff Febus will call both of Calvin's volleyball matches from the
Calvin Fieldhouse. Calvin is scheduled to face Tri-State at noon and Olivet at
4:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Calvin senior Kristen McDonald has received pre-season All-America recognition
from a national publication. A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Grand
Rapids West Catholic High School, McDonald has been named a pre-season
honorable mention All-American by the publication WDIII News.

A year ago, McDonald received first team All-MIAA honors as she averaged 14.3
points and 4.1 assists per game. McDonald also connected on 41.2 percent of
her three-point field goals and finished 10th nationally in three-point field
goal percentage as well as 32nd nationally in three-point field goals made per
game.

McDonald will also serve as a senior captain on this year's Calvin women's
basketball team. The Knights are coming off a 23-4 campaign that included
Calvin's first MIAA regular season title since 1999. Calvin opened practice
this past Friday. The Knights are scheduled to play a game at Grand Valley
State November 16 in Allendale. The game will serve as an exhibition game for
Calvin and will not count on its final record. However, the game will be an
official game for NCAA II member Grand Valley State. Calvin's first official
game is slated for Friday, November 19 against Thomas More of Kentucky at a
tournament hosted by Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

ICE HOCKEY

The defending ACHA Division III National Champion Calvin men's ice hockey team
is off to a 3-0 start after capturing the title of an early-bird tournament
hosted by Northwood University this past weekend.

Calvin captured the tournament title with an exciting 4-2 victory over rival
Hope Saturday night. Freshman Bill Wondergem (Grand Rapids Catholic Central
HS) scored a pair of goals in the Calvin victory while senior Aaron Okkema
(Ancaster, ON) and junior Nick VerKuyl (Whitby, ON) also scored goals for the
Knights.

Saturday's meeting against Hope was a non-conference game but the two rivals
will meet in conference action on Saturday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Van
Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.

The game will be part of a hockey doubleheader at the Van Andel Arena as the
Calvin-Hope game will precede a 7:30 p.m. American Hockey League contest
between the host Grand Rapids Griffins and the visiting San Antonio Rampage.

Fans will get a chance to see both games for one ticket price. Priced at
$13.00, each ticket will allow a fan to see both games. Tickets for Calvin
students are priced at $13.00 but will be available for $10.00 on three
remaining dates at Johnny's Cafe on the ground floor of the Commons Nov. 2, 3 &
4 between 5-7 p.m. each night.
Tickets to the doubleheader can also be purchased at the Calvin Box Office.
Tickets can be purchased through the box office in person, by phone
(616-526-6282) or online (http://www.calvin.edu/boxoffice).

Calvin's other two victories this year include a 14-4 win over Oakland
University and an 8-1 victory over Northwood.

Coach Mike Petrusma's Knights will compete in a three-day tournament this
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Indiana Ice Center in Indiana,
Pennsylvania.
