    Calvin Athletic Events Postponed

    The wintry weather conditions that have swept through the West Michigan area
    have forced postponement of a number of Calvin spring sports events over the
    next two days.

    Here are a list of the postponements along with makeup dates:

    BASEBALL

    Calvin's nine-inning game at Hope scheduled for Monday afternoon has been
    rescheduled for Wednesday, April 16, at 4:00 p.m. Calvin's doubleheader at
    Hope scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, has been moved to this Wednesday (April
    9) at 2:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Wednesday's games will be a pair of
    seven-inning contests.

    SOFTBALL

    Calvin's doubleheader at Kalamazoo scheduled for Tuesday afternoon has been
    postponed until Monday, April 21, at 3:30 p.m. Calvin will also host Alma this
    Thursday in a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m. and Albion on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in
    another twinbill.

    MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD

    Calvin's dual meet at Hope scheduled for this Wednesday has been moved to
    Saturday at Calvin and will also include Calvin's postponed dual meet from
    this past Saturday against Alma. Competing on Saturday at Calvin will be teams
    from Adrian, Alma, Hope and Olivet with individual dual meets being scored
    between the teams. Competition is scheduled to begin at noon.

    VEENSTRA RECEIVES POST-SEASON HONOR FROM DIII NEWS

    Post-season basketball honors continue to roll in for Calvin senior Jeremy
    Veenstra. A native of Kalamazoo and a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High
    School, Veenstra has been named to the DIII News All-America third team. It is
    the second All-America team he has been named to this spring as he was also
    recently selected to the D3hoops.com All-America third team. He was also
    selected to the Great Lakes All-District First Team by the National Association
    of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

    A year ago, Veenstra was also named a third team All-America by DIII News, a
    monthly newsletter devoted to NCAA III men's basketball.
