    MEN'S GOLF

    Calvin took fifth at the Furniture City Classic hosted by Hope at the Ravines
    Golf Glub Saturday. The host Flying Dutchmen took first in the five-team field
    with a team score of 314 strokes.

    Calvin's top finisher was junior Tony Karsten (Holland Christian) who fired the
    sixth-best score with a round of 79. Other Calvin finishers included freshman
    Mike Bratt (Lynden, WA) with a round of 88; sophomore Ryan Brandsma (Hinsdale,
    IL) with a round of 93; freshman Derek VerMeulen (Plymouth) with a round of 95
    and junior Mike Sherman (Grand Rapids Christian) with a round of 96.

    Hope senior Eric Wohlfield was the tournament medalist with a round of 70.
