    VOLLEYBALL

    Calvin College senior Sara Ahrenholz has been named to the Verizon Academic
    All-District IV third in women's volleyball. A native of Prinsburg, Minnesota
    and a graduate of Central Minnesota Christian High School, Ahrenholz is
    receiving Verizon Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career.

    A three-year starter at setter on the Calvin volleyball team, Ahrenholz averaged
    11.81 assists-per-game this year in helping lead the Knights to a 22-12 overall
    record and a berth in the NCAA III Tournament for the fourth time in the last
    five years. Ahrenholz also amassed 43 service aces and 271 digs for averages of
    0.39 aces and 2.46 digs-per-game. She also compiled 70 kills and an attack
    percentage of .399.

    In conference play, she led the MIAA in assists-per-game average with an average
    of 11.64 assists-per-game. She then landed a spot on the All-MIAA 1st team for
    the third consecutive year.

    Ahrenholz is an accounting major and carries a 3.69 grade point average. She is
    a six-time member of the Calvin Dean's List and a three-time member of the MIAA
    Academic Honor Roll.

    As a team, Calvin finished in third place in the MIAA standings with a 10-4
    conference record and then captured its second MIAA Tournament title in the last
    three years with three-game tournament sweeps of Albion, Alma and Hope. Calvin
    also reached the 20-win plateau for the seventh straight year.
