The Calvin Executive Breakfast Series connects, informs, and engages the business and organizational community with interesting and informative content delivered by Calvin University voices.

Join Calvin alumni as well as area businesses and organizations on Wednesday, November 9, at 7:00 a.m. for the Calvin Executive Breakfast Series. Building on our overall theme “The Future of Everything,” we will hear from the new president of Calvin University, Dr. Wiebe Boer, on The Future of Higher Education.

Dr. Boer was born and raised in Jos, Nigeria to Christian Reformed missionary parents. He graduated in 1997 as a second-generation Calvin student and went on to earn a PhD and two master's degrees from Yale University. As Calvin’s 12th president, Dr. Boer brings a unique combination and depth of experience working across the private and social sectors in four countries and two continents over the past two decades.

President Boer values his family’s historical connection to Calvin, and he also values the global perspective he’s gained having spent much of his childhood and adult life living and working abroad.

Before returning to Calvin, President Boer served as chief executive officer of Shell-All On, a renewable energy investment company in Lagos, Nigeria. We look forward to learning from his unique perspectives and valuable insights as a relative newcomer to the challenges of higher education.
