Executive Breakfast Series - Digital Marketing

Join with area business leaders to learn about digital marketing.

You're invited to join area business leaders and Calvin alumni on Tuesday, October 30 at 7 a.m. for the Calvin Executive Breakfast Series.

Our featured topic for this fall session will be Digital Marketing and will feature Mike Wolf and Abby Brinks, two area experts discussing the current state of digital marketing in a panel discussion moderated by Calvin business professor Jill Risner. You'll have the chance to network with other business people, ask questions, and learn more about how others in the area are capitalizing on the dynamic digital marketplace and the latest tools and techniques being used.

A plated breakfast and hot and cold beverages will be provided.

Abby Brinks - panelist

Abby is a data analyst at Adtegrity, a digital advertising agency in Grand Rapids. She creates reports that indicate clients’ advertising campaign performance using several metrics and breakouts to gain an understanding of the relationships in data. She works with spreadsheets, digital advertising platforms, and Adtegrity’s database to form these reports, while providing actionable insights for clients to inform decision making and optimization.

Abby was introduced to Adtegrity through an introduction from her marketing professor to a Calvin alumnus working as a data analyst there. She began an internship in June of 2016 and acquired a full-time position after graduating in 2017 with a degree in business and a concentration in marketing.

Mike Wolf - panelist

As digital marketing & e-commerce manager for The Stow Company, Mike leads a team responsible for the planning, execution, and measurement of all digital marketing initiatives for Stow’s house of brands. From acquisition campaigns and website content strategy to email marketing automation and CRM, Mike and his team have an active hand in all stages of the customer’s online journey.

Mike graduated from Calvin in 2006 with a business degree and was introduced to Stow via a Calvin Action Project (CAP) his junior year. The first project developed into two further CAP projects, a summer internship, and ultimately a full-time job upon graduation.

Prof. Jill Risner - facilitator

Professor Jill Risner earned her Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from the Falls School of Business at Anderson University in 2012. Her studies combined her interest in both psychology and marketing to gain a better understanding of consumer coping methods. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level college classes since 2006. Before attending graduate school, Professor Risner started and ran a marketing consultation and graphic design business with her husband. Her research interests include consumer behavior, technology use in education, and marketing ethics.

The Calvin Executive Breakfast Series will feature timely, topical dialogue around current issues with alum of Calvin College and members of the regional business community.
