Two years ago, students in the Calvin Prison Imitative program at the R.A. Handlon Correctional facility in Ionia, Michigan had the idea and heart to organize the first annual West Michigan Restorative Justice Conference at Hope College. They wanted, in some way, to reach out and create a space in which the public could participate in and learn about restorative justice practices. The 2nd Annual West Michigan Restorative Justice Conference is a continuation of that spirit of connection and dedication to restorative justice, focused on the theme of Hope, Healing, and Radical Reconciliation. This one-day conference, to be held on October 13, 2018 from 9AM-4PM at Calvin College's Covenant Fine Arts Center, will feature a variety of speakers and organizations that work in areas of restorative justice and criminal justice reform.  Lunch will be provided at this event, and attendees will have time to visit booths of local organizations and non-profits to see how they contribute to restorative justice efforts
