Sexual Assault Awareness Flag Event

Come and pray with us at 10:20 a.m. as we lift up those in our midst who have been impacted by sexual assault, and as we seek God's direction for prevention and care in our community. Flags will be set out during dorm worship on the commons lawn the evening of Wednesday April 17.

The flag display on the Commons Lawn draws attention to the issue of sexual violence. Applying the national statistics for sexual assault, the flags represent the number of students, faculty, and staff in a community the size of Calvin who may be impacted by sexual assault in their lifetime. Flags have messages on them written by members of our campus in support of those who have experienced sexual violence.

Watch Calvin News and Student News for details of opportunities to decorate the flags with a prayer, scripture verse, or message of support.

Sponsored by the Sexuality Series and the Sexual Assault Prevention Team.
