According to a 60-question, multiple-choice test given annually by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), Calvin students gained knowledge at a higher rate in key areas such as American history and political and economic institutions, and key founding texts between their freshmen and senior years.
The ISI test measures the difference between student results on the test as freshmen vs. their test results as seniors. Calvin was fourth nationally with a 9.5 percent increase in knowledge between the freshmen and senior years. Rhodes College, Tenn., is first at 11.6 percent.
