Summary: Calvin College has cracked the top 10 nationally in two categories according to the 2009 Open Doors report.

Calvin College is in the top 10 in the country in two categories according to the 2009 Open Doors report, a survey of both U.S. students who study abroad and international students who study in the U.S.

The report, from the Institute of International Education, notes that over the past decade, the number of U.S. students studying abroad has increased by over 150 percent. That trend is true at Calvin, which offers numerous off-campus programs and was third in the country in its category for the 2007-2008 school year with 606 students studying abroad, down slightly from the year prior when it was first overall.

The Open Doors report also notes a record number of international students studying in the U.S., another trend which holds true at Calvin, which in 2008-2009 was seventh in the nation in its category with 357 international students on campus.
