The award-winning January Series of Calvin College is back for its 23rd year. From January 6 through January 26, 2010, Calvin College will continue a long tradition of bringing one of the nation's leading lecture and cultural arts series to west Michigan and beyond for 15 weekdays in January.
The 2010 January Series boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, covering a wide range of today's hottest topics, among them health care, green economics, social justice and foreign policy.
The lineup of award-winning presenters includes the founder of Wikipedia, a current member of Egyptian parliament, a CBS foreign news correspondent who was seriously wounded in a Baghdad car bombing, and a woman who narrowly escaped the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, to name a few.
The January Series is also expanding its remote Webcasts to 28 locations continent-wide in 2010. For a complete list of sites and a lineup of the award-winning speakers, visit the January Series Web site at www.calvin.edu/january
The January Series lectures will be held in the Calvin College Chapel from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free and all talks are open to the public.
