Summary: On Friday, October 23, more than 80 Calvin students will gather from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the DeVries Hall Atrium to display posters that describe the science research projects they worked on this summer.
On Friday, October 23, more than 80 Calvin students will have a chance to show off the research they did this summer under the mentorship of more than 40 Calvin professors.
The science division poster fair, held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the DeVries Hall Atrium, provides an opportunity for students to showcase their work. The nearly 60 projects include everything from the effects of pollutants on waterbirds to fluorescence in narra wood to the dynamics of asteroids and galaxy clusters.
Calvin senior Ben Groenhout worked with biology professor Dave Warners on habitat restoration on Calvin's campus - a project he described as an influential moment in his time at Calvin:
"I just fell in love with habitat restoration and learning about native plants and what we can do with those in Grand Rapids, west Michigan and throughout the world," Groenhout said.
The posters will remain on display through Friday, November 6.
