Celebrating Calvin's 500th Birthday Year This Fall!

Summary: The celebration of John Calvin's 500th birthday year wraps up this fall with a handful of events scheduled from Thursday, October 15 to Wednesday, November 12.

Beginning on Thursday, October 15, 2009 Calvin College will enter the final stretch of on-campus events commemorating John Calvin's 500th birthday year.

Dr. Richard Muller of Calvin Theological Seminary will present Thursday's lecture titled: "Was Calvin a Calvinist?" at 3:30 p.m. in the Meeter Center Lecture Hall. Dr. Muller is one of the world's foremost scholars on John Calvin and early modern Calvinism.

Other events this fall include lectures on October 16 and November 4-5, an art exhibit displayed in the Center Art Gallery from October 16 to November 14 and a Meeter Center Reformation Day Open House on October 30.
