Summary: On Friday, September 11 Calvin College student organizations will honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with a colorful memorial, which will include more than 3,000 miniature flags, each flag representing a victim's nationality.

The Calvin College community will pay tribute to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Friday, September 11. The Military Appreciation Club and the Calvin College Conservatives, both student organizations, have put together the events for the day.

A brief memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. on the Commons Lawn. The memorial will include a short message, prayer, the singing of the National Anthem and the playing of Taps by a Calvin student.

The Commons Lawn will also be dressed with more than 3,000 flags. Each flag will represent the country of origin for each victim of the 9/11 attacks. The flags will be set up to represent the twin towers (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURE FROM 2008 DISPLAY).
