Summary: Calvin College has cracked the top-five in the annual "U.S. News & World Report" college rankings in a category called "Top Up-and-Coming Schools."
The "U.S. News & World Report" college rankings show Calvin College as a "school to keep an eye on." The magazine ranks Calvin fifth among liberal arts colleges in the "Top Up-and-Coming Schools" category.
The category recognizes "schools that have recently made the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus or facilities."
Calvin's director of admissions and financial aid, Dale Kuiper, said that it's encouraging to see that leaders at other colleges and universities are taking note of the hard work and innovation being done at Calvin.
"Each day at Calvin I see examples of fresh ideas among our faculty and students and state-of-the-art facilities and programs," said Kuiper. "Calvin's ongoing support for innovation and excellence is a wonderful benefit to our students."
Calvin also ranks 17th in "A Focus on Undergrads," a category recognizing schools where faculty has an unusual commitment to undergraduate teaching. The college is also ranked 112th in the "Best Liberal Arts Colleges" category, moving up three spots from last year.
