Summary: Since 2000, Calvin College has had the eighth most Academic All-Americans among all colleges or universities in the country.

Calvin College is a leader in Academic All-America awards, the national honor given to student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and in competition. According to the College Sports Information Directors of America, since 2000 Calvin has had 49 All-Americans, eighth-best among all NCAA and NAIA institutions. Calvin is the only Michigan college or university represented in the top 15, which includes such schools as Notre Dame, Penn State and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"In short, it is the quality of student-athletes that Calvin attracts and a team effort from our coaches, faculty and staff that produce their impressive accomplishments year in and year out," said men's athletic director James Timmer.

Both the men's and women's track/cross country teams have set the pace for the Knights in Academic All-America honors. The men's team has more Academic All-Americans all-time than any other school in the country (14), while the women's team ranks third (12).
