Wayne Jacobsen, publisher of 'The Shack,' will speak at Calvin College at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20 in the Chapel.
His book 'The Shack,' a New York Times best-seller, was referred to by Times columnist Motoko Rich as "the most compelling example of how a word-of-mouth phenomenon can explode into a blockbuster."
Jacobsen's talk, titled: "What if There Is a God Who Really Loves You?" is a part of the Seminars in Christian Scholarship's summer public lecture series at Calvin. In addition to publishing Christian books, Jacobsen spends time traveling to other countries to help train indigenous pastors. He has taught at the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii, and has formed other ministries to help coordinate his writing and traveling to encourage others.
